It's cold here

There is so much happening everyday that I really don’t know what would be important to tell you. We continue to visit many members of our two wards. Many of the visits are strictly fellowship visits. We feel that has become a big part of what we do. People need to know that they are thought of. The other visits are with the new members. We now have eight new members that we meet with all most weekly. We teach them many different things. Some of the lessons that we teach are on Patriarchal Blessings, the humanitarian work of the church and being self reliant, the organization of the church, what the Bishop does, what is the Primary, what do Deacons, Teachers and Priests do, family history and Temple work. Many different aspects of the Church. We encourage them to read the Book of Mormon, Pray and come to Church. We are happy to say that of all the Chinese young people who are new members since we arrived they are all still active and excited about the Church.
We have the opportunity to go to the Temple at least once a month with our two wards. They both go on the same night. Many of the ordinance workers for the evening our from these two wards. It is nice to hop in the car and be at the Temple in half an hour. We also took a group on new members to do Baptisms. They are so willing to go and feel the Spirit while there. This time we had enough Chinese speaking Priesthood that it could be done in that language.
If you keeping track of the people we work with here are some updates. Young Seth Brocas gave a talk in Primary. We were able to attend. He did a great job. Spoke on family history and said he wanted to go to the Temple some day. Hopefully the whole family will go. Etsuko is still in Japan. She wrote and told all is going very well. Her fiancée gave her a beautiful ring and they had a nice engagement party. They will marry in Hawaii next year. Our cute Abby was called to be a counselor in the Young Women. She is so excited and scared. She has never had a calling. She went on Tuesday and was so nervous because she has no sisters and says she doesn’t know what to say. But guess what the girls love her. She teaches her first class in a week. We have been giving her suggestions. Chris our Korean young man finally got a job and he is very happy. There have four new Chinese members in the past month.
Along with all the happy times we also have sad ones. A young man named Alex joined the church first part of the year. He had a drug problem and had gotten past it for a while. He slipped a couple times and was ready to try again. He had gotten a job and was very happy. The company cut is project and laid him off. We don’t know what happened, but he was found dead in his room. So very sad. He was bright and kind and tried very hard. We shall miss him.
I know this is a bit long but there is something else I would like to share. We had a very good Stake Conference. Our Area President has a new assignment and he was at our conference. He shared this with us. When he was called to be a Seventy, all the new Seventies met with Pres. Faust. He asked them if they wanted to know the secret to get their families to the Celestial Kingdom. This was his plan.
1. Pray everyday (all day)
2. Read Scriptures everyday and ponder
3. Hold Family Home Evening every week
4. Visit Temple often
5. Pay tithing.
Nothing new, but does everyone do them. I pray that you do.
We have been blessed with believing blood. Be grateful for it.
We love you, we continue to pray for you, we tell everyone we meet all about you. They always ask, Do you know all their names and how old they are. It is so nice that we can say yes, What would you like to know about each of them. Take good care of them and teach them of Jesus Christ.

We were just talking about that in Sunday School last week. It seems like such a simple program to follow. We can do better. Sorry to hear about your Alex. I'll update our blog tomorrow with some more pictures of the house, it's really coming along.

On our way to Girls' Camp. Grateful for the reminders from our leaders. Apprecitate you sharing yout experiences with everyone. So sorry for your sadness on losing your friend. Sometimes life gets so hard I know Heavenly Father must just weep at the challenges he sees us go through. I pray or peace for this gentle man in the life hereafter. Things are crazy so that is pretty much normal for our household. Thanks for your example of service.
