A Great Week!

We had a great week. We had 13 visits and that is a record if you are counting. It will be great to report to our district leader the success we had this week. The best part about it was the type of visits that we had. We felt impressed to visit some of the older members of the wards. We picked a few and called. They were at first a little hesitant. They weren't sure why we were coming. The visits turned out to be very uplifting for us and I think for those we visited. We were able to hear some very inspiring stories of conversion and dedication. People who had immigrated here back in the 50's as young married people unable to speak English. From the Netherlands, Italy and India. We were given so much more then we were able to give them. They all were so happy to have a visit. In some cases the first visit from anyone in the ward for many years. Lucy Persichette from Italy fed us a wonderful lunch. We have found more to go and see and we will return to see these special people.

We had a great visit with Vicki and Kirk Brocas and their son Seth. We had them for dinner on Friday. Served Enchiladas and Kirk loved them. Seth had a great time with Elder Urmston and was very in the Huggies which I truly enjoyed. Showed them a DVD of Elder Holland on being Christians. They were very good to discuss this afterwards. Had a chance to tell them how much we wanted to see them at church and how much they are needed. As they were leaving I just said to Kirk, you know we aren't going to let you go. He said he knew that. Vickie said they would have us for dinner. We really feel this is one of the families we were sent to find. Pray for them.

We were to another Baptism on Saturday. The sisters found this young man. He had many problems with word of wisdom. He had a great turn around and is very happy. He asked Elder Urmston to confirm him and I was asked to give a talk on Faith and Repentance.
There was support from the ward. We just pray that the wards will fellowship these new converts. The Chinese kids especially need to become integrated into the ward. Today I took Jane to see how Young Women's works. She liked it. Gave her a copy of the Theme. One of the leaders Sis. Matic came and got her and took her. One more person for Jane to know.
Tonight Jane and Abby were here to play Uno. We have such a fun time with them and have opportunity to discuss the things they need to know about life in the Church. I have consented to let Abby give me a perm. She is going to school to be a hair dresser. So Wednesday I will go to her school and see what she has learned.

P day we went to a great museum. It was raining. We went on the tram and then walked with our umbrellas. The park where the museum is was beautiful. I have mentioned before about the abundance of parks here in Melbourne. We saw an IMAX movie on Dinosaurs. We will go back again.
We love what we are doing. We feel that we are being led to those we go to. Our focus is to build the wards through fellowship and increasing attendance. This week especially we felt the benefits of our visits. As we entered the chapel and saw the people who have now become our friends. As we are greeted with hugs and handshakes and are you coming on Thursday again.
So we are ready for a new week with 4 appointments on Monday. Nell even called to set the appointment. It has taken many weeks to get her to come and see us. Now I think she has been able to see that our purpose is to help her learn the many different aspects of Church life.
