Great Spiritual Day

Saturday was a very special day for us. It started off with a trip
to the Temple to do Baptisms. We took 9 of our young Chinese friends. For six it was their first time. I was very touched by the spirit as I watched this sacred ordinance performed. I had the distinct feeling that these people who the ordinances were performed for were waiting and rejoicing. I continue to love to do family history research and then go to the Temple to do the work. We still have a lot of work to do.

The next part of our day was to go to the sealing of Allan Sailor and Theresa Malcolm. We have known both of them for the past 17 months and enjoyed watching their courtship develop. Allan was our ward mission leader in the Caulfield Ward. Allan and Theresa were engaged during the Christmas Holiday. We were also able to go with Allan when he received his Endowment. Theresa was one of our students in the Temple Preparation Class. One of the things that made it very special was this. As we were waiting in the Sealing Room for the Bride and Groom one of the matrons came to me and said that Allan would like me to sit in his mother chair. Allan's mother is not a member. Very special moment for me. As I listened to the beautiful covenant made through this ordinance I again was touched by the spirit to know that this union was now sealed forever. I also have that blessing, and as we keep those covenants we will be a forever family.

Saturday evening was another great spiritual time. Peter Sorenson was baptized. We had the opportunity to teach Peter. This was a perfect Preach My Gospel experience. Peter was a referral from a member. All lessons were taught in a members home. He attended church for three months before he was Baptized and met many ward members who were great at fellow shipping him. He asked a ward member to baptize him. There were more then 50 people at the Baptism. Elder Urmston was asked to do the Confirmation. Now he will receive the Priesthood and he and Marion will be married in August. So very happy for them.

So as you can see a mission is a place to receive great spiritual experiences. We hope they will continue for the next two weeks. We have many things still to do while here in Melbourne. As you can see our ticker is counting down. We can't believe it. Today we spoke in Fairfield Ward and next week in Caulfield. Lots of dinner appointments in the next weeks. We will be busy which means the time will fly by, so we will be home tomorrow. Not really.

That is great you were able to go to the temple with so many members going for the very first time. This time has gone by so fast. We can't wait to see you. Love Jill
