MERRY CHRISTMAS

To all of our wonderful family and friends. We bring you Christmas greetings from Australia. The Urmston Gazette will be out of print this year due to time restraints.

This year Christmas is filled with wonderful new friends. Many of our new friends, especially the Chinese converts, have never celebrated Christmas with its true meaning. They need to know why we use the colors red and green? Why the star, the bells, the carols, the wreath, the candle, even the candy cane. They need to see how they all lead back to the Savior. We sometimes take for granted the wonderful gift we were given, to live in a country where the celebration of Christmas has always been and continues to be a celebration of Christ's birth.

We feel that we are celebrating the Savior and his life every day here on our mission. What a great blessing given to missionaries to teach and testify of the Savior Jesus Christ and his mission on the earth. As we teach of Eternal Life and that Families can be together forever we see despair disappear as hope and faith take its place. We have been able to see brand new testimonies that are very tender, grow strong through study, prayer and activity in the church.

We know as did the shepperd's, that the little baby born in Bethlehem in a humble stable, is the Savior of the world. We know he lives and loves us. We know he watches over us and does all that he can to protect us from harm. We look forward to the day that he will be able to return and reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. When every knee will bow and ever tongue confess that he is the Christ.

May you find great joy and happiness as you remember the birth of our Savior and the gift of Eternal Life that he has given to us.

With love to you all,
Mom and Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Elder and Sister Urmston
